I went to London to see Watsky perform on Wednesday. And it was freaking awesome.
This week has been one of the weirdest of my life, and that evening was no different. I’ve never been to a gig like that before, and certainly not by myself, but it was totally worth it.
I hadn’t realised that it was his first time back in London after the stage diving incident. His reaction to this was impressive. He didn’t shy away from it. He openly acknowledged what had happened, and stated that he felt so lucky that people had turned up and given him a second chance, even though he wasn’t sure that he deserved it.
Usually, when high profile people make mistakes that lead to people getting hurt, they shy away from it and refuse to apologise. Not George Watsky though. I think his reaction to his mistake was truly admirable and many people could learn a lot from this.
Also, the concert was fucking awesome, and I’m super sad I had to leave before the end to get the last train home. He’s an incredible performer and the show was very well put together. The support act, The LaFontaines, were pretty great too. So, if you get the chance to see Watsky, I’d totally recommend it.
